Best Ottawa Hotels

"This is a cheap and cheerful hotel in the heart of downtown Ottawa. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful, willing to bend over backwards to make your stay a pleasant one. The rooms are surprisingly large, and even though they are oddly laid out (this must have been an apartment building at some time in its past) and the style is not at all modern, they are clean and have virtually everything you could possibly need, with extensive balconies showcasing some of the best of the city. The continental breakfast offerings are some of the best I've ever had; fresh. plentiful, varied, tasty, and available for a reasonable duration of time every morning. There is even parking onsite; the only drawback is that it's paid parking, and not cheap at that, but considering its location it's some of the best prices in the city. I have been twice now and I will come back as often as I can!"

"We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights, they had issues checking us in as the booking was made through trip.com which went through *******. Somehow they figured it out later. The room was spacious, clean. They provided room services every day except for one day when they were understaffed. Shower has only half door so be ready for some splashes. I recommend bringing your own body wash (they provide soap which is hard to wash off) and shampoo. People who can't sleep with noise in the room, should consider their options. Air conditioning is super loud (like factory machine) , it constantly woke us up at night, there is no option to open a window instead. Breakfasts are always the same, not a single thing changes: fried/boiled eggs, sausages, pork?cutlets, pancakes, apples, oatmeal, bread. The dining room was always overcrowded, the space should be at least twice as big. Sometimes we came and there was no food, so we had to wait for someone to come and bring food (they don't have a person there on a regular basis). I can't say our experience was bad, but it was not great either."

"For my first time staying overnight at Ottawa, I booked a hotel room for one night at Lord Elgin. Upon arriving early at the hotel, I was provided with a room before my check-in time - which was very appreciated. The facilities are clean and the staff is friendly. However, little did we know, our room on the 7th floor was connected to another room with adjoining doors. We were unable to sleep through the night as the room had little to no sound isolation from the connecting room, in which a baby was crying all night. I am baffled as to how we were able to hear every single noise: coughing and sneezing from the parents in the other room, their toilet flushing and the baby crying throughout the entire night. We were unable to sleep comfortably and woke up with splitting headaches. I booked this hotel to be the closest possible to the Rideau Canal Skateway, but I will have to find another hotel the next time."

"Good service, good location, in the residential area next to City Hall, quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The kitchen is perfect (although the equipment is a little old), the bathroom is a bit small, but if you need to find a kitchen, you can choose"

"There was no service water in the room. I was wondering how we could drink complimentary coffee in the morning. I'd appreciate it if they give us water instead of the welcome cookies."

"I enjoyed my stay very much, even though it was just for one night, everyone was helpful and friendly and I came down a little late, but the breakfast was alright, whatever little I had ,was pretty good and I would definitely stay there again if and when I come back to Ottawa again, I was just doing a layover, that's why I had stay there, thanks for everything, sincerely Rick Jones."

"Great little hotel, and excellent location for my needs. Concierge service is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, nicely appointed and clean, and the beds are very comfortable. I love that I can cast my own streaming services to the in-room TV. The gym is small but has adequate machines and weight training equipment for a reasonable workout. The basement restaurant is spacious and the food is standard, though the prices are very high for what you get; there's a nice breakfast restaurant across the street for better value. All in all, a friendly little hotel with good security (considering its location), and I will be staying here again soon, and as often as I need to."

"The room we booked was supposed to have a jacuzzi in the amenities description but when we got there they said they have no jacuzzis in this hotel. So we had to go with the flow unfortunately although we paid for a room with jacuzzi that ended up to be a tub. I dont know who to blame for that to be honest. Room was very small. And the maintenance was not the best (washroom and tub were clogged since we arrived and we had to call for maintenance to fix that). The service was good. And people were nice. But if you are staying in this hotel you need to know that almost everything around it closes by 5. You can not even go get water after 5."

"There are homeless people at the intersection. I was followed by homeless people when I went out at night. The hotel is good. The breakfast is also suitable for Chinese people. It is about 15 minutes walk from the art museum and the mint. 3 days and 2 nights is enough"

"The room was converted from two apartments. There are two bedrooms for three people, each with a large bed. There is also a simple kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, and sink. It is very cozy. The breakfast is also OK, with eggs, meat, fruit, coffee, milk, yogurt, various breads and cakes, etc. The location is also very good, close to the attractions. The overall feeling is good. The only problem is that there is no parking space in front of the hotel, and you need to park at your own expense, 15 yuan a day"
